Behind the Recipe

Nothing So Sweet As Southern Hospitality

Just outside Macon we pulled off at a roadside BBQ tent. It was hotter than hot but we didn’t care. They plucked peaches from nearby trees, grilled them, and mashed them into a spicy-sweet, sticky sauce that changed the way I looked at ribs forever.

As you can probably tell, these aren’t your everyday ribs. No, we’re bringing in a couple of unconventional ingredients to put a spin on your standard fare. Don’t worry, we aren’t messing with greatness here—we’re merely adding to it.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 rack baby back ribs
  • 2 ripe peaches
  • 2 cups ground espresso
  • 3 tbsp. honey
  • 1 bottle BBQ sauce

Preparation

  • Add BBQ sauce, espresso, and honey to large mixing bowl.

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Grill peaches over indirect heat until soft.

  2. 2

Remove peach pits and blend. Then add to mixing bowl with BBQ sauce.

  3. 3

  4. 4

Remove ribs and let rest for 5 minutes.

  5. 5

Coat ribs with espresso and grilled peach BBQ sauce.

  6. 6

    Plate, serve, and enjoy!
